Three tiny wood duck ducklings were making their way along a busy road when one slipped and tumbled into a storm drain, separated from the others in an instant.

A kind-hearted local saw what happened and knew this little one couldn’t be left behind, so they gave us a call.

Our rescuer Oscar headed out, lifted the heavy drain cover, found the frightened duckling and safely contained him, then took him to the vet for a full check to make sure he was unharmed.

Now this brave little duckling is in the care of an experienced wildlife carer, growing up alongside other ducklings of a similar age. Soon he’ll be strong enough to return to the wild.

Thank you for making rescues like this possible. Your support means the difference between life and death for so many animals.
