You may remember little Moonpie, the wombat joey rescued from his poor dead mother’s pouch.

After just a few weeks in care, Moonpie is thriving!

Her carer Emma reports that she’s gaining 80 grams (or about 20% of her body weight) every week. She now weight 450 grams.

She’s on six bottles a day, with feedings every four hours.

As you can see in the video, Moonpie is kept in a little incubator that mimics her mum’s pouch at 31 degrees.

She’s also learning the ropes of being a wombat. She gets lots of play time with three bigger wombats, two girls and a boy, who are also in care with her.

Thank you for supporting Vets for Compassion and helping orphaned joeys like little Moonpie.
