Photographer & Drone Pilot

“Technology should serve compassion. Whether it’s through a drone’s perspective or just showing up when help is needed, every tool and every moment matters when lives are at stake.” Serge brings a practical, holistic approach to the Vets For Compassion team. With a background in technology and consulting, he believes that solving complex problems, whether in business or animal rescue, requires looking at the whole picture and understanding how every element is connected.

In the Field

As a drone pilot, Serge provides aerial reconnaissance and thermal imaging during rescue operations and natural disasters. This helps the team assess bushfire zones and safely and efficiently locate injured wildlife in difficult terrain. Beyond the tech, Serge is grateful for the opportunity to jump in wherever he’s needed most. You’ll often find him:

• Behind the wheel, transporting rescuers and vets to operational sites.
• Capturing photos and video to document the team’s work and support fundraising efforts.

Life at Home & Intentions

When he isn’t volunteering, Serge’s world revolves around his family. He is a devoted husband and father to three adult children, and he treasures the time they spend together, whether they are gathered for dinner or spending time on their farm in Gippsland. Serge feels fortunate to be a steward of this land, where he is working towards regenerative farming practices. He hopes to eventually open the farm to others who wish to camp and learn about holistic management. An adventurer and technology enthusiast, he enjoys photographing native wildlife and exploring regional communities. Whether he’s on a motorcycle expedition or experimenting with AI in his home lab, Serge remains focused on using his time and tools to protect the environment and the animals that call it home. For Serge, the principles of regenerative farming and animal rescue are one and the same: a commitment to healing the land and protecting the lives within it, ensuring a healthier, more connected world for the next generation.
