Meet the team
Narelle Thompson
Rescuer
Narelle has been a dedicated wildlife rescuer, carer and shelter for many years. She is very proud to be part of the Vets for Compassion team where the welfare of each animal is top priority and the level of professionalism, support, respect and care is second to none.
Although she dived into the corporate world straight out of school, saving animals has always been a big part of her life. While studying, she was lucky enough to do her work placement at Melbourne Zoo twice.
Narelle has two beautiful daughters (who grew up with animals coming into care) and two elderly dogs that she loves dearly.
She has volunteered with Dr. Elaine and Dr. Chris of Vets for Comapssion in various firegrounds, floods, emergency and specialist rescues and daily rescues over the years.
She says “To gain the trust of a wild animal is truly an honour. They teach us so much”. Amongst the sadness, she finds comfort and joy in each successful rescue with a happy outcome. To give them a second chance is what it’s all about. Together we do make a difference.
