Meet the team

Jacob Watt

Rescuer & Drone Pilot

Jacob has been involved with wildlife rescue for the past six years, four of them with VFC. Wildlife rescue and conservation is his passion. Specifically, wildlife rescue in natural disasters.

He has assisted in:

  • 2018 Bunyip State Forest fires
  • 2019/2020 Black Summer bushfires
  • 2022 Northern NSW floods

He believes we have been put on this planet to give a voice to creatures who don’t have one. His role at VFC is a paravet, requiring a variety of skills ranging from drone pilot to administering medication under veterinary supervision to capturing and restraining displaced or injured animals. Wildlife rescue is what he lives and breathes, and he intends to continuing helping wildlife for as long as he can.
